Goals for 2011

I know I'm a little late in posting my New Years resolutions. I've never been big on making resolutions every year. I'm not sure why. Every year I think I need to make some goals and work towards them and then I just don't get around to it. It's not that I don't make goals for myself, just usually not at New Years.
Anyway, this year I did. I'm going to share 2 of them on here.
#1 Run in a race.
I have signed up for the half marathon at Thanksgiving Point on April 30th. So far training has been good and I am really enjoying it. I usually go running at night when Wes is home with the kids so it's nice to have some time to myself. I'm not a good runner so this is going to be really hard for me but I'm excited for the challenge.

#2 Start a piano preschool. I have been teaching piano lessons for a few months now and have had some requests to teach preschool age kids. So my goal is to get everything together and figured out before Nathan turns 3 this year. That way he can do it with me. So far I have found some great resources and ideas. It's a work in progress!

My first music experience of my life was music pre-school. It was incredible and totally set the foundation for me. We met as a group once a week, learned about forte and piano dymanics, marched around the room for rhythm, learned to clap rhythms and count, (I don't think any of it was directly associated with piano since we were altogether as a group) but seriously it prepared me so much when I was finally old enough to do piano. The person who pioneered the program in Logan was Diane Hardy. She's retired now, but has all her advanced degrees in piano pedagogy and I've never seen anyone else in my area offer something so wonderful. You should write to her!

GREAT IDEA! If you lived by me I'd totally send my little guy your way! Good luck!

I wish I lived closer so I could run with you. It would be so fun. As for the piano preschool-great idea. I would totally sign Brynlee up. Hope you are doing well.
