We went camping with some friends this last weekend. Wes and I have been wanting to go camping for a while now. Wes got a lot of camping stuff for his birthday last year so we've been ready, we just haven't done it. We decided that the boys were probably old enough to try it out so we went! Nathan and Blake loved it! They were pretty good the whole time, I just got a little nervous when they would get around the fire. Nathan was afraid of the tent at first because Wes tried taking him to Father's and Son's camp out a few months ago and it was really windy and blew the tent over while they were in it. So they packed up and came home in the middle of the night because Nathan was so upset and he wouldn't get back in the tent.
We've been talking about how much fun camping is and he's been watching an episode of Elmo where he goes camping so after all of that, he finally got in the tent!
It rained half of the night and there was a lot of lightning and thunder so it took the boys a little while to fall asleep but then they slept all night and our tent kept us dry! It was so fun, we are ready to go again!! Here are some pictures of our fun adventure!

Cooking pancakes over the fire. We brought a stove but I forgot to pack the propane...oops. We we cooked over the fire and it turned out awesome!
We were by a little lake so we walked down there for a few minutes and got a cute family pic!

There you have it. Our fun, first camping trip as a family. The best part was the food! It was so good. Thanks to the dutch ovens that our friends, the Styler's brought. So delicious!

Wow! How fun! We want to go camping too but we aren't going to be ready this summer unfortunately.
I am way paranoid about the fire too. They need to invent some sort of fire gate. Michael was saying a few months ago that he should invent something that you can put around the fire that won't get hot. Michael's sister's kid fell in the fire last summer. It was so scary.
That looked like fun! I am glad the boys liked camping. Now we all need to go camping together!

I love camping! Hopefully we can go this year, not sure about doing it with a newborn though.
