The fun weekend!

We had so much fun this past weekend. Wes' mom came to visit for a few days (Nathan was So excited to see his Nana) and then his sister and her family came for a few days. One day we went to Zions National Park to go hiking. What we thought would just be a few hours ended up taking us all day long but it was still a blast and amazingly the kids did great! We had a 5 week old, a 5 month old, an almost 2 year old and a 3 year old.
Besides the all day hike, we did a bike ride with the kids and did lots and lots of swimming and BBQing. We love it when people come to visit!
Here are just a few pictures from our weekend.

Grocery shopping

I have a dilemma.

Harmons vs Walmart

I live just around the corner from Harmons. It's a nice big grocery store. They have the fun carts that Nathan loves with the little car attached to the front, making more room for my groceries in the cart. They give Nathan a balloon every time we go in. They bag your groceries and put them in your cart for you. They offer drive up service or they will just help you out to your car. And the people that work there are always so nice. Always. I love Harmons. My only drawback is that it's a little expensive.
Then there is walmart. They don't have the big carts so my kids take up an entire cart. If I am doing a big shop then I have to push the kids in one cart and pull the other cart with the food in it (like I did today-I don't recommend this)
I always get the grumpy checkers, ALWAYS, and you have to put your own groceries in your cart. One time I wasn't fast enough for the lady and she was kind of rude about it.
Today as I was hauling around my two carts, one with kids and one with lots and lots of groceries, Blake started crying. Not just crying but screaming, hysterical, high pitched shrieking. He does this. There is usually nothing wrong with him, he just wants to be held...which I can't really do because I am pushing two carts through Walmart. But people are staring and giving me looks because my baby is screaming his lungs out so I have to stop, take Blake out and carry him while pushing one cart and pulling the other.
Why do I do this? I think to myself every time I go to Walmart and not Harmons...WHY? Harmons is SOOO Awesome compared to this.

Walmart is cheaper.

That's it. Plain and simple. I'm a girl on a budget. I can't bring myself to pay the high prices at Harmons. What do I do?
Every time I go to Walmart I think, it's worth it to just pay the extra money for the service. But then when I do go to Harmons I think, "it's so expensive".
So, I still have a dilemma...

Our Pool

We have a pool in the complex where we live and today, we decided to try it out. It has been 90 degrees the last few days so we wanted to cool down. We got the kids ready and dressed and headed over to the pool with our pool toys and towels. When we went to open it, we discovered that our pool key didn't work. We ended up borrowing our neighbors key to get in so by the time we finally got in and all situated to go swimming with the kids...Blake fell asleep in my arms. He really needed a little nap so I let him sleep while Wes and Nathan had fun in the pool. It was fun to see how excited Nathan was to play in the water with his dad. Next time Blake and I will get in too.

My energetic toddler

Nathan is such an active little boy. He has so much energy that it can sometimes be a challenge to keep up with him and to keep him happy and entertained. Here are just a few of the things that he has been doing.
This pictures was taken a few weeks ago when my family was here visiting. My dad and brothers and Wes went on a bike ride and Nathan got a new trailer to ride in. He loved going on a bike ride with dad.
I found this fun little toy the other day and Nathan loves it because it involves water and I love it because he can play outside on our little patio while I am in the kitchen making dinner or cleaning or whatever.

The water toy is also a plus for the hot weather.

But when it gets too hot, he can play inside in his fun little tent and tunnel that he got from his Nana.

Everything I've missed

Here is a random post to catch up on things that have been going on that I've missed.
A few weeks ago, my family came to visit. One night we had a big BBQ with everyone and it was so much fun! We only got a few pictures but here they are:
This is Aunt Jess with Nathan And here is my Grandparents and my parents and Jess eating the BBQ
This is Blake just chillin with his dad. Blake is 4 months old tolday and getting so big. He is so much fun and is always smiling!

We are discovering that St. George has so many fun things to do...here we are at a trail we discovered. I love my double stroller for things like this.

Cute brothers. Wes just took this picture last night. He was getting kids ready for bed so he put Blake down for a minute on Nathan's bed and Nathan got right up on his bed and layed down next to his brother. Nathan is very cute with Blake, I think they will be the best of friends
*I posted earlier about Nathan's face but in case you missed it...he was running a little too fast in the driveway and tripped and landed on his face...it's actually looking pretty good here. Hopefully it heals fast because I get a lot of looks and questions when I go out to the store or anywhere.

Our new addition

We bought a minivan! We had been talking about it and looking for a while when I found this ad on KSL for a Toyota Sienna. It was a really good deal so after some looking into it, we decided to buy it! I flew to Salt Lake to get everything worked out and then Wes flew up the next weekend and we drove it home. (Flying with the 2 boys was an adventure but we made it)
I am so excited about are van. I LOVE it.

Mother's day

Thanks to nursery, Nathan made me a little card and a flower for Mother's day. My first Mother's day gift from one of my children.

Wes made lunch after church...I requested "breakfast" and Nathan helped by stirring the waffle batter.

(If you notice the giant scab on his face, he fell while running too fast and landed on his face..poor kid)
