So Sunday night Wes and I stayed up pretty late decorating the house and making and decorating the cake. We did a Thomas and Airplane theme. He has been asking for train tracks for a while now so that's what we got him. He was so cute when he came downstairs monday morning to see that his birthday had come. We decorated with paper airplanes hanging from the ceiling and the birthday sign hanging on the wall. He opened his presents first thing and Wes helped him set up the train tracks. He was so excited!
A little later that day we had some of his friends come over for a little party. We had made sugar cookies in the shapes of airplanes, trains and cars and had the kids decorate them.
Then after dad came home from work we had my grandparents come over and Nathan blew out his candle and we had cake. It was fun to see how excited he was all day!
Decorating the cake the night before
So excited about his new train tracks!
Nathan helped me make the sugar cookies
I didn't get any pictures of the finished cookies or his little party
Here he is blowing out his candle. He LOVED it when we sang to him!
I can't believe Nathan is 3 years old. I remember so well when he was born. It's been so fun to have him in our family. He is growing up so much! He can talk so well and has such a cute personality. He loves anything that has to do with Thomas the train, airplanes and helicopters, tractors, cars and other typical boy stuff. He loves watching movies, playing games, and singing songs. He loves going to church and nursery and he likes helping us with the prayers. He always blesses the helicopter in his prayers (we live near the hospital so we see the life flight helicopter a lot...if we don't see it flying over our house, we have to drive by it at the hospital several times a week)
Nathan is a good big brother. He is always looking out for Blake and loves to play with him. They play so well together! Of course they have their moments of fighting but most of the time they are the best of friends.
